So? Whutcha Get? Brag here.

What is the best writing related gift you got for Christmas? And books you'll read for pleasure count.

And, if your haul included something really cool you want to tell the rest of us about, even if it has nothing to with writing, go ahead and rub it in.

I got some organizers for my desk and a 1.5 TB external hard drive (my old 250 GB drive is nearly full). I also got two books: The Harvest Gypsies (one of the very few Steinbeck books I've never read), and The Power of Babel: A Natural History of Language. And, I got a medieval-themed tall beer stein, which will go very nicely in medieval-themed Schreibwinkel (my writing nook/den). I got other goodies too, but those are the most writerly gifts.

Oh yeah, and my son bought me the new Twain autobiography, but it was out of stock so I won't actually have it in my grubby paws for a little while yet.

Oh, I wanted that Twain autobiography. I might end up picking it up for myself instead.

This year I didn't get a lot of writerly gifts, unlike last year. I, did, however get "The Unknown Civil War" by Webb Garrison. This had been on my wish list for a while, so I'm glad m y son picked it up.

Happy New Year, everyone!
